THE ACTOR PREPS Mondays and Tuesdays @ 7:30 I've seen it too many times. The trained actor is always over thinking the two line co-star audition and blowing it. This widdles down their confidence and self-esteem and each audition pushes them further away from their goal. They take the rejection personally and slowly walk away from a career in acting. Getting the job is not the work. Getting the job is being pampered in trailer dressing room, whisked into make-up, fawned over by wardrobe, and then reporting to set for a few takes and then leaving or taking a break. The WORK is preping the audition. You were chosen to audition from over 2000 submissions (maybe more) and picked as the top 15-30 to read (i call it perform). Congratulations you are working now. #theactorpreps #kurtkoehler

There is a glow when you hear someone booked an episode of something or other. That means out of the thousand submissions, they were the top 15 or 30 chosen to read. Then out of that small number they were widdled down to the top 5 and then of course, the one who books the job. Jack Plotnik gave this great bit of advise and I advise all my students the same, "Let go of the need to book the job." It helps so much more if you book the room. This becomes important for your future bookings. THE ACTOR PREPS
