As an actor starting out the only thing you have to offer in an audition is YOU!  Do we see YOU every time you audition?  If not it maybe why you're not booking.  I see actors over-think so much in an audition that they start giving us a character rather than who they are. Yes there is an arc in every scene including the co-star roles with one line, but it's not rocket science...it's Romper Room.

Actors are needy and searching for approval.  That's why we act.  It's no wonder with all the rejection we face.  It's a better goal to book the room and be considered for more in the future.  It's called branding yourself.  Needing to book a role that you have no control over including what the writers have imagined for that role.  This one more thing you can't control.  Be you unless that ask you to be someone else.
